Somerset is undoubtedly one of the best areas on Earth for cheese with its nutrient rich land and concentration of cheese making talent and history. This board showcases some of the best cheeses in the area.

Bath Blue

A delicious, vibrant blue cheese made by the Bath Soft Cheese Company. Handmade to a traditional Stilton recipe in small batches on Kelston Park Farm, it has a softer texture than Stilton and a citrusy note on the palate. Made using pasteurised, organic cow milk and a traditional animal rennet.

Lamb Leer

A delicious bloomed Ewe milk cheese, made near Blagdon. Delicate and fragrant with a soft tang. Made using an unpasteurised sheep milk and a vegetarian rennet. This cheese is supplied as a whole round. Weight may vary.

Montgomery’s

Beautiful subtle caramel like flavours (depending on the time of year) , with a wonderful rounded nuttiness and hay/ grass like qualities, Montgomery’s cheddar is from North Cadbury in Somerset. Approximately 12 months old. This is one of the UK’s best traditional cheddars, made on the same family farm in Somerset for 4 generations, using an unpasteurized milk from the farm’s own herd and a traditional rennet.
