Last minute gift ideas for Uncle Keith and Dad

Oli is the master of the Christmas Eve shopathon. The most annoying thing about this is not that he leaves it to the last minute to buy Christmas and birthday gifts, but that they are always perfect and thoughtful. He does all of this in between slinging a massive amount of cheese and booze from the shop on the final sales day of Christmas.

On the other hand, I am a planner who loves buying gifts. One of my favourite post Christmas traditions is recycling my Christmas cards into gift labels for the next Christmas (top tip alert). Despite this, I always seem to miss someone off of my list. I have a massive Northern family - there is always some uncle who pops up out of the blue. I am always grateful to have a spare bottle of lovely plonk as a gift.

People always panic about buying their dad a gift. Working in a cheese shop means that I find buying a present for dad super easy. Cheese making lesson - he’d love an experience gift. A nice bottle of paired wine with some cheese and a delicious chutney - he’d gobble the lot. An amazing t-shirt designed by Turbo island - he’d obviously wear it every day. Better still, an instore or online voucher so he can pick something himself.

Cheese subscriptions are perfect for a last minute present too. Every year I am amazing how many orders for these come in on the morning of Christmas day and Boxing Day (I have definitely ordered subscription gifts on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning).

If you’re reading this and have smugly already finished shopping, you can always buy yourself a gift. The January cheese subscription is always excellent and haven’t you done dry January enough? We have the biggest and best wine selection we have ever had (our recycling is jangling).

We hope you have a lovely Christmas and that you haven’t forgotten anyone! No need to panic, we got you last minute people!
